Association Rondine: International Symposium "A sea between two sides, a bridge between two worlds", Rondine, 5-6 July 2012

Association "Rondine Cittadella della Pace" has organised, the 5th and 6th of July 2012, the International Symposium titled "A sea between two sides, a bridge between two worlds", on the occasion of the inauguration of the project "A new leadership for the South Side of the Mediterranean", a six-months training course, addressed to young people coming from Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, aimed at contribute to the creation of the future leading class and the social and economic development of the countries affected by the Arab Spring.

Representatives of european and arab civil society organisations has met to discuss crucial issues that made the Arab springs begin, with the aim to contribute to build strong bridges of trust and friendship between worlds that are geographically close but, for some aspects, culturally distant. Among them, Cardinal Jean Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue, Andrea Riccardi, Italian Minister for International Cooperation and Integration, Lamia Mekhemar, Ambassador of Egypt at the Holy See, Naceur Mestiri, Ambassador of Tunisia in Italy, Antonio Papisca, professor of international protection of human rights at the University of Padua, UNESCO Chair "Human rights, democracy, peace."
