EIUC: Venice School of Human Rights. Venice, 27 June – 6 July 2013

The Monastery of San Nicolò at the Lido of Venice will host, from 27 June to 6 July 2013 the fourth edition of the Venice School of Human Rights, a study programme managed by the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC).

The Venice School of Human Rights was established in 2010 with the goal of studying today’s challenges in the field of human rights and allowing its participants to examine thoroughly the details and the possible solutions concerning the topics addressed.

Following an introduction devoted to the international system for the promotion of human rights, the study programme will be developed into three main topics among those mentioned in the EU Strategic Framework and Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy:

  • Human Rights based approach to development cooperation
  • Lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersexual rights
  • Religion and Human Rights

Participation to the Venice school of Human Rights is open to:

  • Post Graduate students with at least a Bachelor degree (three years) in law, political, human or social sciences
  • Member from governmental and non-governmental organisations
  • International Organisations' officers
  • Human Rights Practitioners
  • Former students of the European and of other Regional Master Programmes in Human Rights and Democratisations
