Universal Civil Service at the Human Rights Center: call for applications open for the project "Youth Agenda 2030 make yourself seen, make yourself heard", deadline February 18, 2025
The Human Rights Center "Antonio Papisca" launches the new Universal Civil Service 2024 project "Youth Agenda 2030 make yourself seen, make yourself heard" ("Youth Agenda 2030 fatevi vedere, fatevi ascoltare”) targeting 4 young people aged between 18 and 28, realized in collaboration with the Digital Learning and Multimedia Office, the Public Engagement Office and the GIScience and Drones for Good Laboratory.
The project, aims to make a contribution to the realization of Goal 4.7 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, to provide quality education "aimed at sustainable development and lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, and the promotion of a peaceful and nonviolent culture," and Goal 11.3, which promotes action to "make human settlements inclusive, participatory, safe, secure, durable and sustainable."
If provided with the necessary skills and opportunities to realise their potential, young people can be a driving force to support development and contribute to peace and human security. In 2020, Secretary General António Guterres adopted the ‘Our Common Agenda’ which addresses different aspects of youth involvement, stressing the need for it to be a true and effective quality involvement and the University and the academy are identified as privileged partners in pursuing these goals, with an action that does not end in a short period of time but must have repercussions and benefits for future generations as well. In this scenario, the project aims to develop and promote the knowledge and skills to be citizens trained in the themes of human rights, active citizenship, environment and non-violence and able to use and develop digital skills in a social and climate justice perspective, in line with the Youth Agenda 2030.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to have an international experience at the Center and will be involved in numerous activities:
- organization of meetings and seminars on the topics of human rights, active citizenship, culture of peace, socio-environmental sustainability, sport and wellness, climate and social justice, public engagement and Youth 2030 strategy;
