EIUC: Training Seminar on Human Rights and the Environment: Synergies and Challenges

The Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) promotes, from 21 to 23 November 2013, a training Seminar on "Human Rights and the Environment: Synergies and Challenges".

The seminar, organised in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the European Union, aims at integrating environmental issues and their legal tools within a human rights framework, by involving Conservation Ecology experts side by side with internationally recognised academics and practitioners in the field of Human Rights, International Law and Environmental Law.

The seminar is devoted to officials from national and international organisations, NGO experts, decision makers and policy makers wishing to better understand how to integrate human rights and environmental issues in their daily work. The Course, moreover, is addressed to participants and alumni of former educational programmes organised under the EIUC umbrella.

The seminar will be held at the Monastery of San Nicolò, at the Lido of Venice. The deadline for application is set on 30 September 2013.
