Médecins Sans Frontières's Work in Italy: an overview of 2024

The Justice and Correction Section of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) supports a gardening project in the local jail in Sevare, which allows prisoners to grow their own food and to garnish a small income from the sale of that which they produce. Here, the hands of two prisoners who participate in the project. Their faces are not shown in order to respect their privacy and protect their identity.

Protests are under way in New York City against racism and police violence after the death of George Floyd. Protests first erupted on 25 May, after video footage went viral on social media of a white police officer in the city of Minneapolis, United States, kneeling on the neck of African American George Floyd, for more than eight minutes, causing his death while in police custody. His death set off a nationwide outcry over racial inequality and police brutality, that have inspired protests in solidarity and against racism all over the world.
