UNESCO Chair

UNESCO Chair "Human Rights, Democracy And Peace"

The Chair, established in 1999, works in close cooperation with the Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights, and many activities are carried out in the form of a joint venture of the two institutions.

The Chair-holder is Antonio Papisca, Professor of International Relations and International Protection of Human Rights, and former director of both the European Master Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation and the Interdepartmental Centre. 

The Chair contribute in giving coherence and international visibility to the training and resear activities carried out by the Centre.

In 2008 the UNESCO Chair and the Jean Monnet Chair participated in the 1st Conference on City Diplomacy (The Hague, 11-13 June 08) and in the “Ateliers” of the EU Committee of the Regions on multi-level governance (2009 White Book).
