University of Wrocław
In the academic year 2014-15, the University of Wrocław, Poland (https://international.uni.wroc.pl/en) and the University of Padova started a double degree programme that, at the completion of all components of the curriculum, allows up to 6 students from each university to be awarded two master’s degrees: In Italy: Laurea Magistrale (master’s degree) in “Human Rights and Multi-Level Governance”; In Poland: “Dyplom magistra na kierunku stosunki międzynarodowe” (Master’s Degree in International Relations).
The students’ mobility is supported by their respective university in the framework of the Erasmus+ scheme or through any other available grant programme. Students of the master’s degree in Human Rights and Multi-Level Governance willing to spend their second year in Wrocław must follow an ad hoc study plan.
For any information, the Local Academic Coordinator of the double degree programme in Padua is prof. Paolo De Stefani (paolo.destefani AT unipd.it).
Catholic University of Lyon and Université Grenoble-Alpes
From the academic year 2018-19, a double-title agreement has been in place concerning the HRG master's degree and the Master 2 in "Histoire, Théorie et Pratique des Droits de l'Homme", issued by the Catholic University of Lyon and the Université Grenoble-Alpes.
The Catholic University of Lyon, in particular through its Institute for Human Rights, has had a training offer for several years in the area of international law, which is fully compatible and complementary to the educational proposal of the MA Degree Programme in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance.
The four-year agreement is accompanied by an annex that presents a detailed list of training activities. The two different curricula have been harmonized in order to make them complementary. It is provided that the second year will be carried out, respectively in Lyon by the students of Padua, with lessons mainly in French, and in Padua by the students of Lyon, exclusively in English.
In 2020, one Padova student will be awarded the Master2 diploma in Lyon/Grenoble and simultaneously the master’s degree in Padova, while two students from Lyon will graduate in Padova and then will be awarded their French Master2 degree in Lyon/Grenoble.
University of Antwerp
In 2019 The University of Padua and the University of Antwerp signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the level of universities lasting three years. Besides, an additional Protocol was concluded between the SPGI Department and the Human Rights Center on the one hand, and the Law Faculty of the University of Antwerp on the other. The Memorandum concerns scientific research activities, didactic activities within disciplines of common interest; mobility of teachers and researchers; mobility of students and doctoral students; exchange of information and bibliographic resources; university activities related to the “third mission”, including the mobility of technical, administrative and library staff functional to these purposes; and the mutual involvement in seminars and academic events.
The Additional Protocol states that the Law School of the University of Antwerp recognises the SPGI Department and the “Antonio Papisca” Center for Human Rights as privileged partners of its Master of Law. In particular, the Protocol provides for the exchange of a maximum number of 7 persons (2 teachers and 5 students) based on a dedicated Erasmus+ mobility agreement from respectively the HRG master’s programme of Padova and the master of Law in Antwerp. The Protocol also supports joint research activities on human rights, multi-level constitutionalism, law and development. In the academic year 2019-20, four Padova students spent one or two semesters in Antwerp, while two students from the Antwerp programme were hosted in Padova for one semester.
Erasmus+ enables students to undertake a learning experience in another European country. The study period abroad may vary from the minimum of 3 months and the maximum of 12 months.
Participating students will receive an Erasmus+ EU grant during the period abroad. At the end of the period abroad, the sending institution will give full academic recognition for activities completed during the mobility period, as agreed in the Learning Agreement, by using ECTS credits or an equivalent system. The mobility period will also be recorded in the Diploma Supplement.
