From 11 to 17 May 2026, the city of Padova hosted the first edition of Young Europeans: Kosovo Week, a cultural initiative organised by an international group of students with the support of the University of Padova and the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca”. Through exhibitions, film screenings, and public discussions, the programme promoted a contemporary perspective on Kosovo, highlighting the creativity, resilience, and potential of its younger generations.
One of the main attractions of the week was the photography exhibition Kosovo Through New Lenses by Arben Llapashtica, hosted at Palazzo Moroni from 11 to 17 May. The exhibition showcased artistic images reflecting the cultural and social dynamism of contemporary Kosovo.
The programme also featured a screening of the award-winning film Hive, directed by Blerta Basholli, at Teatro Ruzante. The event was opened by the Consul of the Republic of Kosovo in Italy, Mr. Kastrati. Following the screening, Fahrije Hoti shared her personal story and participated in a discussion with the audience.
Another key moment was the youth panel “Change Makers: Building a Country Through Youth”, held at the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca”. Guest speakers included Arber Lleshi from BONVET, Vullnet Sanaja from Anibar, Sindi Manush, and Ajxhan Esati, who discussed youth empowerment, cultural initiatives, and international cooperation. The evening concluded with a musical performance by Edona Vatoci and the presentation of the book Il Vompere by Carmelo La Rosa.
