Editorial information

The Italian Yearbook of Human Rights offers up-to-date data on how Italy works in adapting its legislation and policies to its obligations under international human rights law.
The most significant acts carried out by national and local institutions, domestically and internationally, initiatives of civil society organizations, university courses, and Italian and international case law are presented. Special attention is paid to the recommendations addressed to Italy by human rights bodies of the United Nations, Council of Europe, European Union, OSCE.
The Yearbook aims to inform on how the international human rights monitoring system evaluates Italy's action, to encourage an informed and transparent debate on this fundamental aspect of public life.
The Italian Human Rights Yearbook is edited by the Human Rights Center of the University of Padua and produced with the contribution of the Veneto Region as part of the activities of the Human Rights Peace Archive (Regional Law June 21, 2018, no. 21 “Regional interventions for the promotion and dissemination of human rights as well as sustainable development cooperation”).
The current online digital version of the Yearbook represents the evolution of the publishing experience that went on from 2011 to 2022.
