Presentation of the Italian Yearbook of Human Rights 2012
On Monday 15th October 2012, the Committee for human rights and a culture of peace of the Region of Veneto met at Palazzo Balbi (Venice).
At the end of its work, at 12.00 pm, the Italian Yearbook of Human Rights 2012, edited by the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padova, has been presented to the press. The publication provides an overview of the Italian situation in relation to issues such as violence against women and forms of exploitation, discriminations against Roma, the respect of human rights in the management of migratory flows from North Africa, the rules concerning bioethics and biolaw.
The Yearbook 2012 proposes for the first time an "Italian Agenda for human rights", with the aim to better focus on the immediate and on the long-term challenges that society and institutions have to face in achieving the full realisation of the rights for all.
The press conference has been attended, among others, by: Marialuisa Coppola, Regional Councillor for human rights and gender policies, Marco Mascia, Director of the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padova, Antonio Papisca, Director of the Italian Yearbook of Human Rights, Paolo De Stefani, Claudia Pividori and Pietro De Perini, members of the research and editorial committee of the Yearbook.
The event press release is available in italian. By accessing the Italian page of the presentation, you are leaving the English version of the website.
