The call for admission to the 41st cycle of the International Joint PhD Programme in Human Rights, Society, and Multi-level Governance for the academic year 2025/26 is closed.
The interdisciplinary academic programme is jointly offered by the University of Padova (Italy) with Tangaza University College (Kenya) and run by an international board. It had 8 positions available:
- 4 positions with scholarship funded by the University of Padua
- 2 positions with scholarship funded by Tangaza University
- 1 position with scholarship under the Smart PhD 2025 call for applications
- 1 position without scholarship
The University of Padua's scholarships has prioritised the following research topics:
- Human rights protection and advocacy from a multi-level governance perspective.
- Inclusion and psychological growth.
- Climate justice, political agroecology, and sustainable development.
- Contradictions, challenges, and potential risks of the European Union’s commitment to its foundational values and principles in its external action.
- Human rights in the era of artificial intelligence.
The Tangaza University scholarships was restricted to the following research topic:
- Social transformation in relation to security, peacebuilding, and sustainable development in Africa.
The Smart PhD 2025 scholarship had the following mandatory thesis topic:
- People analytics in SMEs: a data driven approach to promote welfare and inclusion.
