Each year the Master's Degree Course in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance, in collaboration with the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua and the Region of Veneto, organises the educational module "Peacekeeping Intensive Training" at the Multinational CIMIC Group.
The module, organised on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua and the CIMIC, constitutes the integral part of the teaching of the Master's Degree Course and is held at Mario Fiore Barracks in Motta di Livenza (Treviso) by specialised CIMIC instructors.
The aim of the course is to provide the students with a basic understanding of principal tasks, functions and organisation of CIMIC in NATO and EU CIMIC policy. Among the topics addressed, special attention will be posed to negotiation techniques to which a group simulation will be dedicated. Part of the course will focus also on specific field experiences by the instructors especially in the ISAF (Afghanistan ) and UNIFIL (Lebanon) missions.
