The course offers 7 positions:
5 Scholarships funded by the University of Padova - the research projects that fall into one of the following areas have highest preference:
1) Protection of human rights and advocacy from a multilevel governance perspective - with a focus on the role of actors.
2) Environment, human rights and social justice - focusing on the psychosocial psychosocial conditions of young people in relation to environmental crises and social inequalities social inequalities in the 'Anthropocene Era'. This includes understanding how they perceive, experience and respond to these problems.
3) Climate justice, political agroecology and sustainable development - with a focus on to climate finance, the fight against poverty and just transition. For the scholarships from Tangaza University College, the research project must relate to the following area: Sustainable development sustainable development and social innovation (including urban climate justice and community development).
2 Places reserved for candidates with qualification obtained at Tangaza University College (Kenya):
Topic: Social transformation on security, peace building and sustainable development in Africa, Peacebuilding,and Development in Africa
All required documents to be submitted listed in the information sheet for the chosen PhD course must be attached to the application form, together with a copy of a valid identity document, with photo, preferably a passport. If the candidate is applying for more than one course, each application must be completed with the relative documents required. All documentation must be attached in pdf format or any other format foreseen by the specific doctoral course.
For all legal purposes, the application is to be considered as a self-certification of the data included therein and of the attached documents, in accordance with articles 46 and 47 of Italian Presidential Decree no. 445/2000 and subsequent amendments.
A non-refundable payment of € 30.00 must be made for each application. This amount must be paid by the final deadline for submitting the application via "PagoPA". After payment, it is still possible to modify one's application. Once the application form has been completed, it must be printed, signed and re-uploaded following the instructions described in the online procedure, and a copy of a valid identity document must be attached. The absence of a signature, of the payment of the participation fee by the deadline and/or missing an identity document are grounds for exclusion from the selection process.
The online procedure for submitting the application form can be also accessed through SPID (Public Digital Identity System), by choosing the University of Padova from the list of providers available: in case of access via SPID, no signature will be required when submitting the application
Reference letters are not required for this doctorate.

The oral examination will take place on 10 June 2024, 9:00 (Italian time).
The final ranking of the selected candidates will be published on 25 July 2024.
