Starting from the A.Y. 2002/03, when the Italian University reform (established with Minsterial Decree (Decreto Ministeriale) No. 509, 3 November 1999) fully entered into force, the Specialisation School in Institutions and Techniques for the Protection of Human Rights, created in 1988, ceased its existence and was transformed into the Master's Degree Course in Institutions and Policies of Human Rights and Peace, activated by the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Padua.
Seventy-two students have obtained the Diploma of Specialization in Institution and Techniques for the Protection of Human Rights during.
Every Diploma is the outcome of a rich path, made of three years of theoretical and practical learning, with twenty-six teachings with compulsory attendance, internships and activities at institutions and governative and non-governative organisations, writing of research papers and of a final thesis.
The skills acquired from this experience enrich and strengthen the expertise of professional roles in the political-administrative and socio-educational fields: national, regional and local public officers, ombudsmen, ombudsmen for childre, law experts and consultants, attorneys, judges, penitentiary staff, police, specialised trade union staff, political parties and associations, international civil servants, human rights monitors, electoral observers and supervisors, university researchers, educators, teachers, social services executives, officers and staff, NGOs executives and staff and voluntary bodies working on human and social promotion.
