A Day with Elena (Una giornata con Elena)

Once again, this year the University of Padua celebrate “A Day with Elena (Una Giornata con Elena).” A day to remember the first alumna of Unipd and the first woman to receive a doctorate in the modern world (1678). It is also the occasion of awarding the University of Padua - Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia Study Prize, now in its third edition.

On Thursday, 8 July at 17 the University welcomes at the Sala dei Gigantiof Palazzo Bo the writer Michela Murgia, who is enaged in the story and denunciation of inequalities and discrimination, in particular regarding women. In her speach, she will address the importance of words to build, in fact, a future of genuine gender equality.

The event includes institutional greetings by Rector Rosario Rizzuto, as well as guests, President of the Alumni Association and representee of the Friends of the University of Padua Gianni Dal Pozzo, and President of Solgar Italia Multinutrient Spa, Anna Giuliani.

Following Michela Murgia’s lecture, Vice-Rector for Cultural, Social, and Gender Relations Annalisa Oboe will award the prize to this year's winner, Giulia Comunale. Additional guests include Giada Caudullo, Vice President of Solgar Italia Multinutrient Spa, and Valentina Scattolini, winner of the aforementioned award in the field of nutraceuticals.
