Advocacy Day: Stories of resistance from Iran to Afghanistan, June 10, 2024

The University of Padova concludes its series of Student Advocacy Seminars on June 10, in celebration of Student Advocacy Day.  

Through the seminars, the student community reflected on the importance of academic freedom, engagement in reporting violations, and action to concretely defend those at risk. 

The event on June 10, to be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m. at the Beato Pellegrino Complex, via Vendramini 13, aims to keep the spotlight on and raise awareness about the situation in Iran and Afghanistan. In particular, attention will be focused on the right of girls and women to education, denouncing the lack of academic freedom, freedom of expression, and their contribution to the spreading of knowledge.

The event will conclude with a screening of the film Refugee Girls, together with the director Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso.
