Internship positions for students of the MA Degree Programme in “Human Rights and Multi-level Governance”

Proposal for 6 intern positions for students of the MA degree programme in Human Rights of the University of Padua

On the occasion of its 40th Anniversary (1982-2022), the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca” offers up to 6internship positions for students of the Master's Degree Programme in “Human Rights and Multi-level Governance” in the period from February 2022 to July 2022, either in the round February/April, or in the round  May/July.

An internship consists of 225 working hours, distributed in roughly 3 months, and entitles to 9 ECTS credits (corresponding to the curricular stage).  Internships are not remunerated.

Internships at the Human Rights Centre aim at:

  • increasing the intern's understanding of current human rights issues, improving her/his practical skills in research and communication;

  • providing the Human Rights Centre with the contribution of outstanding students in carrying out its ordinary activities, namely in implementing projects to mark the 40th Anniversary.

The Tasks assigned to the intern include

  • Updating institutional sections and databases of the Centre’s website (Italian and English versions); 

  • Drafting news and newsletters; 

  • Managing the social media profiles of the Centre and producing/editing media contents; 

  • Supporting the staff in the organisation of conferences, events and extra-curricular activities;

  • Supporting the staff in the realisation of the Padova Model UPR 2022 and the pilot of the UPR Follow-Up Debate 2022;

  • Collaborating in the preparation of events and materials for the 40th Anniversary of the Centre, including multimedia and publications;

  • Supporting the editors of the Italian Yearbook of Human Rights e the Peace Human Rights Journal (PHRG).

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year of the HRG master’s program for the entire period of their internship; 

  • Fluency in English, including writing skills; 

  • Fluency in Italian language is an asset;

  • Willingness to undergo training and seek out professional development opportunities;

  • Team working experience;

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; 

  • Experience with image or video making is an asset.

B) a motivation letter of maximum 400 words (you are invited to visit the Centre’s webpages and get familiar with the Centre’s activities, so as to indicate in which areas you wish to contribute);
C) your updated CV (max. two pages);
D) the list of exams you have passed, with marks.
(Documents B to D should be submitted as a single .docx or .pdf attached file)

Deadline for submitting applications: January 31st, 2022.

The selection process is based on the submitted documents and may include an interview by the staff of the Human Rights Centre.
