Department for International Relations, Communications and SISTAR

The Regional Section for International Relations is in charge of the implementation of Regional Law 16 December 1999, n. 55, Regional Interventions for the Promotion of Human Rights, a Culture of Peace, Cooperation for Development and Solidarity, by promoting and supporting numerous activities and projects of cooperation for the development and promotion of human rights, with the co-involvement of agencies, associations and active public and private organisms in the Region.

The Section is involved with a wide scale of international activities in the Region of Veneto, comprised of international relations, the signing of agreements with foreign state, regional and local authorities, the participation in international bodies and organisations, decentralised development cooperation, international solidarity, the promotion of the cultural heritage of Veneto in Istria and Dalmazia, as well as activities in the sector of rights, such as the promotion and protection of human rights and of a culture of peace, the promotion of equal opportunities and the protection of linguistic minorities.

In the field of promotion of human rights, the Section gives its technical support to the Committee for Human Rights and for a Culture of Peace, organises public events, participates to the activities of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and collaborates with the European Master in Human Rights and Democratization.
