Padova Model UPR 2020 -- Second call for application

The Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca”, along with the Department of Political Science, Law and International Studies of the University of Padova, is excited to announce the Third Annual Padova Model UPR.

The Padova Model UPR 2020 is a comprehensive academic simulation of the UN Mechanism, the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which works to review the human rights records of UN Member States. This simulation offers students from all over the world a unique opportunity to learn about human rights, democracy and diplomacy.

The simulation will be held in Padova from November 24-272020.

The Second Call for Applications is open from August 17 - September 20, 2020.

Participation is open to both teams and individuals, there is also the possibility to apply as a remote researcher. Research roles aid the State delegate, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), and National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) teams with remote revision, lobbying and preparation.

In the case that Covid-19 presents a limitation to travel and/or in-person attendance, the Padova Model UPR 2020 may be adapted to a partially or completely remote/online platform.

For more information and to access the application, please check the home page of Padova Model UPR 2020 and follow our Facebook Event.
