Founded in 1990, the International Human Rights Law Insitute focuses on human rights and rule of law research, training, and advocacy. The Institute designs and manages global projects involving post-conflict justice, human rights documentation and analysis, capacity-building for legal professionals, and gender rights and human trafficking. It also conducts scholarly research on international criminal law and international humanitarian law. The Institute is also committed to preparing law students, activists, scholars, and practitioners interested in human rights careers through fellowship programs, special courses, internships, and research opportunities based in Chicago and abroad.
