The Regional Archive Pace Diritti Umani - Peace Human Rights was established in 1988 by the Region of Veneto with Regional Law 30 March 1988 No. 18 “Regional Intervention for the Promotion of a Culture of Peace” and then confirmed with Regional Law 16 December 1999 No. 55 "Regional Interventions for the Promotion of Human Rights, the Culture of Peace, the Cooperation to Development and Solidarity."
The Archive is managed by the Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights and the Rights of Peoples of the University of Padua, according to the Convention with the Region of Veneto provided for in Art. 2 of Regional Law 55/1999.
The Archive is one of the main instruments through which the Region of Veneto promotes the culture of human rights, peace, cooperation to development and solidarity.
The Archive collects, elaborates and makes available various documents, thematic databases and informational resources on the themes of the Regional Law 55/1999 to the public.
The website “Archive Peace Human Rights” is continuously updated.
An important activity of the Archive is the publication of books, study aids, in-depth analyses and multimedia cd-roms. The Archive also manages the Associations and NGOs of the Veneto Database (available only in Italian), which conducts a census of public and private subjects operating on the regional territory in the fields of: human rights, the culture of peace, cooperation to development and international solidarity.
