The European project N.E.x.T TO YOU, Network for the Empowerment, the social and labour inclusion of trafficked minors and young adults, financed by the European Commission in the context of the AMIF 2019 call for proposals, started in December 2020. The project is coordinated by the Veneto Region and specifically by the Organizational Unit "Third sector dependence, new marginalization and social inclusion" and involves 4 different countries and 8 partners interested in the promotion and protection of minors and young people involved in trafficking situations.
In addition to the Veneto Region, the project involves the Human Rights Centre Antonio Papisca of the University of Padova, the Equality Social Cooperative (Italy), ENSA (European Network of Social Authorities) in collaboration with the Brussels office of the Veneto Region - Organisational Unit for EU and State Relations, the Comunità dei Giovani Società Cooperativa Sociale (Italy), the Payoke NGO (Belgium), the France Terre D'Asile Association (France) and the Cruz Blanca Foundation (Spain).
The project focuses on the importance of early identification of child victims and their protection. It aims to support 140 children and young adults who are victims of severe exploitation, using tools such as empowerment and socio-occupational inclusion to overcome trauma, cultural shock and other psychological consequences that hinder their paths.
This project enriches the network of work carried out in the Veneto Region in the management of services dedicated to the protection of victims of trafficking and severe sexual and labour exploitation.
