Seminar for the presentation of the results of the research carried out by the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua on the topic “The 'Norm Peace Human Rights' in the Statutes of the Italian Municipalities and Provinces as well as in the Statutes and in the Regional Laws of the Italian Regions”
The research has been supported by the Human Rights Department of the Region of Veneto and is based on a large sample constituted by the Regions, the Provinces, and all Municipalities with more than 5000 inhabitants.
The collected data refer to a precursor experience which is, yet, mostly unique in the panorama of local governments in Europe and in other continents.
The results of the research allow to advance some interesting hypotheses related to the development of a genuine constitutional culture, at the local level in Italy, with a pronounced international dimension.
