The Location: Casa Miglioranza

Casa Miglioranza, Via Beato Pellegrino 34, Università di Padova, sede del Centro di Ateneo per i Diritti umani "Antonio Papisca"

Since June 2023, the Centre has been located at Casa Miglioranza, in Via Beato Pellegrino 34, part of the larger "Beato Pellegrino" Complex of the University of Padova.

Casa Miglioranza was built by Pietro Lombardo in 1466 for Francesco Miglioranza. It is a typical expression of Lombardo's art in his flamboyant Gothic phase. The value of this building lies exclusively in its façade, which is of great refinement. The delicate decorations of the openings—featuring fluted vases, floral and figurative elements on the jambs, archivolts, and capitals of the twisted columns of the three-light window and the four single-light windows—constitute the only sculptural element and the one that gives emphasis to the façade itself, which is completed by a rich fresco decoration with scales of various types covering it entirely.

Further information and details are available in the General Catalogue of Cultural Heritage.
