Women Peace Security
The project “Women Human Rights and Peace Processes” supports the realization of the Italian National Action Plan (NAP) “Women, Peace and Security” 2016-2019, for the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
The UNSCR 1325 calls for women to participate in the civil society in activities of peacebuilding, promotion of human rights in conflicts and post conflicts areas.
To this end the project envisages several activities: training, communication and dissemination of information. It provides for initiatives and events that will be held throughout Italy with the collaboration of a number of local partners and organizations engaged with the protection and promotion of human rights, peace and peacebuilding in conflicts.
This project is promoted by the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca” of the University of Padova and by the Civilian Defence Research Center, with the support of the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and it will be held from January 2018 to December 2019.
