Marco Pitzalis

Professor of Sociology at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Cagliari, where he currently serves as Head of the Department, he is a member of the Centre Européen de Sociologie et de Science Politique – EHESS, Paris. From 2009 to 2022, he directed the Interuniversity Centre for Educational Research and, in 2023/2024, he founded and directed the PhD Programme in Research and Social Innovation (UniCA). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Scuola Democratica and Rassegna Italiana di Sociologia. His research interests range from educational policies and pedagogical and technological innovation in schools to the study of educational choices and guidance systems, with particular attention to social inequalities in education.
