Global Campus of Human Rights: Cinema Human Rights and Advocacy Summer School (17th edition), deadlines 30 April and 30 May

The Global Campus of Human Rights and Picture People organize the 17th edition of the Summer School in Cinema Human Rights and Advocacy that will take place from 29 August to 7 September 2022 in the Monastery of San Nicolò, Venice Lido (in presence).

The Summer School is a training initiative for professionals specializing in human rights and media, as well as for representatives of NGOs, advocacy and the third (voluntary) sector. It is aimed at a better understanding of the connections between human rights, films, digital media and video advocacy. Participation in the course will also help in developing critical thinking skills along with understanding ethical challenges in using photos and videos in professional life.

The program is focused on the rights of children and young people. During the 10-day course participants will study such topics as: Human Rights Representation in Films, Video in Human Rights, Documentation and Advocacy, Children and Trauma, Ethical Challenges in Documentary Filmmaking. The Summer School offers a program that combines various learning activities: lectures, practical workshops, working groups, tutorials, film screenings and film discussion.
