Global Campus of Human Rights: The 18th edition of the Summer School in Cinema, Human Rights and Advocacy

The 18th edition of the Summer School in Cinema Human Rights and Advocacy is a training initiative jointly developed by the Global Campus of Human Rights (GC) and Picture People. The school is for those who wish to expand their understanding of the connections between human rights, film, digital media and video advocacy, and learn how to use film as a tool for social change. The 10-day programme offers a safe, culturally rich and collaborative environment in which diversity and inclusivity are embraced, originality and critical thinking are encouraged, skills are honed, creativity is unleashed and networking with human rights experts and film industry professionals is fostered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival.

The programme focuses on the rights of children and young people within the broader framework of the protection and promotion of human rights. The course is designed to address participants of different backgrounds, nationalities and experience.

The Summer School will take place from 28 August to 6 September 2023 at Monastery of San Nicolò, Venice Lido.
