ISHR's 2021 training for human rights defenders: call for applications

The International Service for Human Rights (ISHR) is calling for applications for its Human Rights Defender Advocacy Programme (HRDAP), which is aimed at training human rights defenders to integrate the UN human rights system into their existing work at the national level.

The HRDAP will be held from 5 April to 25 June 2021 in fully online mode. The programme is organised in the form of webinars, group exercises and Q&A sessions. During the training selected participants will gain knowledge about internal work of the UN human rights mechanisms, while hearing first-hand from advocates and UN staff on how civil society can strategically engage in the international human rights space.

An important prerequisite for participation in the HRDAP is work experience in non-governmental organisations, with existing advocacy experience at the national level and some prior knowledge of the international human rights system.

The application deadline is on 3 January 2021.

The International Service for Human Rights is an independent, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights. We achieve this by supporting human rights defenders, strengthening human rights systems, and leading and participating in coalitions for human rights change.
