Region of Veneto: published the 2017 Annual report on foreign immigration to Veneto

The Regional Observatory on Immigration of the Region of Veneto has published the 2017 Annual report on foreign immigration to Veneto, coordinated by Marilinda Scarpa, Director of the Regional Migration Flows Unit.

Since 2008 the annual report has been regularly published and it is a consolidated tool to take stock of the condition of immigrants living in Veneto. The report presents a systematic analysis of data and trends in migratory flows in relation to certain aspects crucial for Veneto and for Italy as a whole, such as demographic changes, education, employment and unemployment figures and health.

The Immigration Observatory is a technical-scientific instrument aiming to monitor, analyse and disseminate data and information on migratory flows and integration at the regional and national level. To this end, it collaborates with the other regional observatories which are involved in the migration phenomenon; it assures the proper functioning and constant input for databases, the monitoring of immigration dynamics, further study on various thematic aspects, housing conditions, the social and educational integration of minors and their development; it ensures an updated collection of specialized laws, proposing training sessions to increase knowledge of these laws and their correct implementation.
