The Equity and Diversity Unit of Western Sydney University, in partnership with the University of Newcastle, organizes the 2016 Higher Education Ally Conference and invites submissions for presentations or workshops. The conference will take place at Parramatta South Campus (Sydney) on 27-28 June 2016.

The Conference will focus on best practice models of Ally Networks for staff and students and forging ongoing national links between Ally groups in higher education. It will bring together professional and academic staff and students from across the sector. The Conference will provide opportunities for staff to participate in professional development and for student representatives to discuss and workshop issues of particular concern to sexual and gender diversity and higher education institutes. There will also be the opportunity for academics to present relevant research and identify future partnerships to benefit the networks and potential partnerships.

The Ally Network is an endorsed group of staff and students who are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful culture at the University for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community members.

Abstracts of a maximum 200 words are invited to be submitted by 29th of April 2016.
