Future(s) Club meeting #1: Screening of Snowpiercer, Human Rights Center, University of Padova, 21 May 2026

As part of the FUTURE(s) Club initiative organized by students of the Human Rights, Society and Multi-level Governance PhD Programme at the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca” of the University of Padova, the movie "Snowpiercer" will be screened on Thursday, 21 May 2026 at 16:30.

The initiative creates a shared academic space where members of the University community can watch films together and reflect collectively on major issues shaping our societies, our memories, and our possible futures. Through cinema, dialogue, and facilitated discussion, FUTURE(s) Club invites participants to engage with questions related to human rights, climate change, social justice, psychology, conflict, democracy, environmental protection, collective memory, and the responsibilities we hold toward one another and the planet.

Synopsis 

In a future where a failed climate change experiment has killed all life except for the survivors who boarded the Snowpiercer (a train that travels around the globe), a new class system emerges.
