On August 6, the new Fifth National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (2025-2029) was published. Its implementation coincides with two important anniversaries: the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and the 25th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000).

This new Plan is characterized by a strengthening of the Objectives and a rationalization of the Actions, aiming at greater effectiveness in line with the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. It is developed around a core of four fundamental objectives:

  1. promote women's equal and effective participation in decision-making processes and peace operations;
  2. consolidate the presence of women in the Armed Forces and Police;
  3. strengthening the protection and role of women, girls, and girls in conflict and post-conflict areas;
  4. consolidating communication and training activities on women's rights and the priorities of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda, creating synergies with civil society and academia.

The Plan also aims to strengthen initiatives for women's empowerment, gender equality, and the protection of human rights in conflict and post-conflict areas. Finally, it aims to consolidate and expand communication and training activities at all levels, intensifying synergies with civil society.
