Online webinar "From Charter to Local Action:The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in Cities", 31 March 2026
Cities are essential actors in translating the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights into tangible, everyday realities for their residents. In this regard, as part of the DeCiDE project, the Global Parliament of Mayors (GPM) & Human Rights Cities Network (HRCN) will host the webinar "From Charter to Local Action: The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in Cities" on 31 March, bringing together city leaders and experts to explore how municipalities are implementing the Charter at the local level and strengthening engagement with their communities around fundamental rights.
The session will offer a collaborative and practical space for cities to share experiences, highlight concrete examples, and discuss approaches to fostering transparency, participation, and stronger community relationships. Moderated by Eric Corijn, Director of Policy & Research at the Global Parliament of Mayors, the panel will feature Luisa Salgueiro, Mayor of Matosinhos (Portugal), Hafsa El-Bazioui, Deputy Mayor of Ghent (Belgium), and Alexandr Votcariov, Head of the Education Department in Chișinău (Moldova), followed by an open Q&A session allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers.
