People at Risk: Scholarships for Palestinian students and academics
The University of Padova has allocated 200,000 euros in scholarships for students and lecturers at Palestinian universities affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
This decision, made following the motion of the Academic Senate on May 14, will go into the “People at Risk” program, aimed at supporting academic careers put at risk by the conflict.
Of these funds, 60,000 euros will be used for the “Scholars at Risk” program, which co-funds research grants to accommodate Palestinian faculty in various departments. Another 140,000 euros will be used for five new scholarships for Palestinian students, ensuring their academic continuity in a stable and safe environment.
In addition, the University of Padova is promoting several initiatives to welcome and respect the human rights of all.
Among these initiatives is a fundraising campaign to support students in need due to situations that prevent freedom of study and research in their countries.
Every contribution is essential to support the right to study. Each of us can contribute.
