The publishing house Daniele Marson Editore, specialising in the production of high-quality photographic books, presents the book ‘Livenza acque leggendarie’, a work that celebrates the extraordinary beauty of the Upper Livenza.

This book is an exciting visual journey that starts at the river's source, shrouded in ancient legends, crosses the prehistoric site of Palù, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enters the evocative Palù Biotope, a true sanctuary for amphibians.

The author, Diana Crestan, a highly sensitive nature photographer, has dedicated four years of fieldwork to capturing the most intimate and authentic essence of these places. Her images not only document the crystal-clear waters of the river, but also pay tribute to the entire ecosystem: from the lush vegetation of the banks to the extraordinary biodiversity that characterises this area.

Born at the foot of the Pordenone mountains, the Livenza generates an exceptional wealth of natural habitats along its course. The wetland is home to an extraordinary variety of tree species – willows, alders, elms and aspen – which provide an ideal refuge for numerous animal species, both aquatic and terrestrial. The Palù di Livenza Biotope deserves special attention. It is a protected area established specifically to safeguard amphibians, which have found optimal conditions for reproduction here.

As Michele Zanetti, naturalist and writer of the preface, points out, "There is something in Diana's photos that has a strong emotional impact on the observer. Something absolute, rarely seen and perceived, the absolute natural."

The volume is divided into four chapters with bilingual Italian/English texts, 128 pages embellished with 80 striking photographs. The format (28x24 cm) with hardcover and dust jacket makes it a valuable publication.

The official presentation will be held on Saturday 28 March at 6 p.m. at the “Livio Poldini” Magredi Centre in San Quirino (Pordenone), in the presence of local authorities, the author and journalist Giulio Gasparin. This will be followed by the inauguration of a photographic exhibition with 24 images printed on Canson Fine Art paper, testimony to the excellent quality that transforms photography into authentic works of art.
