Mr nobody against Putin

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 9:00 p.m., the Cinema Fronte del Porto, located at 20 Via Santa Maria Assunta in Padua, will host a screening of the documentary film “Mr. Nobody Against Putin,” directed by David Borenstein and Pavel Talankin.

The documentary follows the story of Pavel “Pasha” Talankin, a Russian teacher who chooses to resist: when Russia invades Ukraine in 2022, the school where he works is transformed into a propaganda tool, a place to build consensus, train recruits, reinforce nationalism, and eliminate critical thinking. Talankin begins filming in secret, documenting how the war and the Russian propaganda machine operate behind the scenes to erode rights and freedoms. His story is that of an ordinary man who chooses not to remain silent.

The screening will be followed by a discussion open to the public.

The following will be present in the theater:

  • Stefano Collizzolli for distribution, ZaLab,
  • Francesca Benciolini, Councilor for Peace of the City of Padua,
  • Paolo De Stefani, professor of international law at the Human Rights Center “Antonio Papisca”, University of Padova.

The screening is in the original language with subtitles.
