The call for applications for admission to the 2026/2027 PhD program in Peace Studies has been released
The call for applications for admission to the PhD program of national interest in Peace Studies (academic year 2026/2027) has been published. The program was established on the initiative of the Network of Italian Universities for Peace (RUniPace). This innovative program, involving 34 Italian universities—including the University of Padua—and coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome, aims to develop interdisciplinary higher education on the themes of peace, human rights, and conflict and peace studies.
The PhD program is divided into 10 academic tracks:
- Curriculum 1 – Technology, Sustainability, and Peace
- Curriculum 2 – Identity, Memory, Religions, and Peace
- Curriculum 3 – Peacebuilding, Human Rights, and Peoples’ Rights
- Curriculum 4 – Peace Education and Migration
- Curriculum 5 – Architectures and Landscapes of Peace
- Curriculum 6 – Space, Territories, Resources, and Narratives from a Peace Perspective
- Curriculum 7 – Economics of Peace
- Curriculum 8 – Literature, Arts, Philosophy, and Imaginaries of Peace
- Curriculum 9 – Restorative Justice, Transitional Justice, and Nonviolent Conflict Transformation
- Curriculum 10 – Dynamics, Processes, and Actors in International Relations
The Ph.D. program thus offers a broad and integrated perspective on building more just and peaceful societies.
