On the occasion of the anniversary of its foundation on November 16, 1945, the city of Padova celebrates the eightieth anniversary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Communication and Information (UNESCO) with an event organized by the UNESCO Club of Padova.
UNESCO was born with the mission of contributing to peace and security for all humanity through international cooperation in its areas of expertise. In particular, it promotes knowledge, mutual understanding, and freedom of dissemination and exchange of ideas, with the aim of actively contributing towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
On Monday, November 17, 2025, the entire community is invited to participate to the UNESCO Day in a meeting in the Sala Comunale dell’ex Foro Boario in Prato della Valle 70/A, where numerous figures active in Padua linked to UNESCO will speak. Among these, Professor Marco Mascia, President of the "Antonio Papisca" Human Rights Center and holder of the UNESCO Chair “Human Rights, Democracy and Peace” at the University of Padova, will also intervene.
