Event date: 27-29 January 2027

Venue: University of Groningen’s Rolinggebouw (Faculteit Rechtsgeleerdheid Groningen), Groningen, the Netherlands.
From 27 to 29 January 2027, the Groningen Centre for Health Law (University of Groningen) will host its second annual Methodologies Workshop on Global Health Law and Human Rights, to be held at the University of Groningen.
The workshop aims to equip legal scholars, public health scholars, PhD researchers and Master's students with the tools to understand, choose and apply different research methods in global health law and human rights research, with a particular focus on implementing a human rights approach. Rather than exploring each methodology in depth, it offers an overview of the approaches available, providing participants with the resources and knowledge to pursue them further independently.
The first day will focus on legal methodologies and methods for global health law and human rights research, while the second day will explore interdisciplinary methods. The last day offers an opportunity to present individual projects and receive feedback. The detailed programme is available on the University of Groningen website.
The workshop is open to legal scholars focusing on global health law and/or human rights, public health scholars with an interest in law, Master's students and PhD researchers.
The participation fee is €325 per participant. Places are limited to 20, and the application deadline is 8 January 2027.
