European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE)
Founded in 2010, the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) is an autonomous EU body that aims to strengthen and promote gender equality in the Union.
The Institute publishes its annual Gender Equality Index, a tool that assigns member states a score from one to one hundred, based on their achievements in terms of gender equality in six areas: work, money, knowledge, time, power and health. Data on gender-based violence and some intersectional factors in relation to employment (type of family, age, level of education, country of birth and disability) are also measured.
