On Tuesday, 22 May 2012 at 17:00, at Palazzo del Bo of the University of Padua, the 30th anniversary of the awarding to Altiero Spinelli of the Honorary Degree in Political Science was held.
The initiative has been promoted by the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence and the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua, with the High Patronage of the President of the European Parliament and the Patronage of the Italian Representation at the European Commission, with the collaboration of the European Movement and the University Association of European Studies (AUSE).
After greetings of the authorithies, Pier Virgilio Dastoli, President of the Italian Council of the European Movement, Altiero Spinelli’s parliamentary assistant at the Chamber of Deputies and at the European Parliament from 1977 to 1986, founder and leader of the Spinelli Committee for the United States of Europe from 1986 to 1990, has given his speech.
Testimonies by Carlo Fracanzani, former President of the Budget Council of the European Economic Community, and Antonio Papisca, Jean Monnet Honorary Professor, former Dean of the Faculty of Political Science (1980-1983) of the University of Padua, have followed.
