Defend who defends - ways of protection of Human Rights defenders

The research “Defend who defends - ways of protection of Human defenders” (Difendere chi difende: Rights  Forme e modelli di protezione delle difensore e difensori dei diritti umani), published in May 2021 by “In Difesa Di, Per i diritti umani e chi li difende”, aims to briefly present some temporary relocation programmes initiated by human rights organisations in various countries, in order to provide different models and a comparison for the construction of potential temporary relocation programmes.  Furthermore, the research also introduces experiences of political support for people who defend Human Rights, representing an alternative to the traditional temporary relocations.

The Research was carried out by the existing project “Città in Diffesa di”, financed by Otto per Mille of the Valdese Church and it was drafted by Stefano Filippini.

"In Difesa Di, Per i diritti umani e chi li difende" is a network of more than 30 Italian organisations and associations active on issues such as human rights, the environment, international solidarity, peace and disarmament, workers' rights, freedom of the press and the rule of law.
