On the 16th February 2016, law no. 12, 20th January 2016, concerning measures for the promotion through sport of the social integration of foreign minors living in Italy will enter into force.

The law provides that minors, who are not Italian citizens and who are legally resident in the Italian territory since the age of 10, may be registered at sports associations belonging to national associations or at associated disciplines, associations and sports promotion bodies, with the same procedures necessary for the enrollment of Italian citizens.

The membership remains valid after the completion of 18 years, until the finalization of the procedures for the acquisition of Italian citizenship.
