Bridging our diversities: 8th International Conference on Human Rights Education
From 30th November to 3rd December 2017 the 8th International Conference on Human Rights Education (ICHRE) will take place at Montreal, Canada.
More than ever, there is a need for approaches that promote understanding, respect, inclusion, equality and reconciliation. Human rights education is a key strategy in this regard. At the Conference, participants will work together to develop a dynamic articulation of the value of human rights education as well as document a collection of innovative and effective strategies and practices to respond to current global challenges.
The ICHRE is the forum for practitioners, policy-makers and academics to explore innovative education solutions to global challenges.
This conference will gather participants from all over the world for practical workshops and insightful sessions featuring the latest tools, knowledge and good practices in human rights education.
The themes discussed will be:
- Contribution of Human Rights Education to addressing global challenges and strategies for greater engagement of governments and civil society
- Human Rights Education good practices for building inclusive and equitable communities
- Human Rights Education tactics and tools to ensure impact
The Conference will be bilingual, in French and English, and is co-organized by Equitas – International Centre for Human Rights Education, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Concordia University, McGill Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, Université du Québec à Montréal and Western Sydney University.
