City of Venice Prize: meeting on “Ius soli and intercultural governance in Italy”, 2 September 2013
In the context of the 21st edition of the City of Venice Prize, that takes place annually on the occasion of the Venice Film Festival, the Council of Europe- Venice Office and the Venice Municipality- Department of social policies organised a meeting on “Ius soli and intercultural governance in Italy”
The meeting took place on Monday 2 September 2013, at 9.30, in Ca’ Giustinian, San Marco 1364, Venice. The “18 ius soli” documentary, by director Fred Kuwornu, has been presented during the meeting. The projection has been introduced by Giorgio Orsoni, mayor of Venice, Paolo Baratta, Biennale President, Florence Benoît-Rohmer, EIUC Secretary General, Alberto d’Alessandro, Director of the Venice Office of the Council of Europe.
At the debate following the show the following officers were present: the Cécile Kyenge, Italian Ministry of Integration, Sandro Simionato deputy mayor of Venice, Sandro Gozi, President of the Italian Delegation of the Council of Europe, the Director and exponent of istitutions and civil society.
The City of Venice Prize 2013 has been organised by the Municipality of Venice- Department for Immigration and Promotion of citizenship and asylum, in collaboration with the SPRAR (protection system for refugees and asylum seekers) and Una Strada association.
