On Monday 14 June 2010, at the flying squad's head office of the State Police, the cycle of seminars on "Urban Security and Human Rights" will come to an end with a seminar committed to the "Danger of infiltrations of the Mafia in the North-East". The cycle of seminars has been promoted by the the Interdepartmental Centre on Human Rights and the Right of Peoples of the University of Padua and by the police headquarters of Padua in the context of the Memorandum of understandings signed in September 2009. This memorandum provides for the realization of activities of information, education and awareness on themes concerning human rights, intercultural dialogue and security with the partecipation of students and teachers of the Master's Degree Course in Institutions and Policies of Human Rights and Peace and staff members of the State Police.

Among the purposes of the meetings there is the aim to give more and more professionality to the studies of the Master's Degree Course in Institutions and Policies of Human Rights and Peace and the aim to promote positive synergies between two institutions that are daily involved in promoting the respect of national and international human rights law, the rule of law, democratic principles and non-discrimination.
