EIUC: Venice School of Human Rights, Venice, 28 March - 4 April 2020

Until February 24th, applications are open to participate at the Venice School of Human Rights held by the Global Campus of Human Rights. The School takes place from March 28th to April 4th at Monastery of San Nicolò, Venice Lido (Italy).

The Venice School 2020 is devoted to strengthening the work of human rights defenders. The three main topics are: human rights defenders, gender equality, and children’s rights.

The courses will be taught in English by internationally recognised experts and academics in the fields of human rights belonging to partner universities and other organisations that support Global Campus projects and endeavours.

Keynote speakers are Jens Modvig, Chair of the United Nations Committee Against Torture, Mara Marinaki, EEAS Principal Adviser on Gender and on the Implementation of UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, and Benyam Dawit Mezmur, Member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Participants will benefit from an extremely rich cultural environment including visits to museums, galleries and churches.

The Venice School is addressed to graduate students from all academic backgrounds. Lectures are conceived for an audience of graduates mainly in Law, Political Sciences, Economics, Sociology, Philosophy, Anthropology or similar.

All participants attending the course will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the course.
