The city of Venice will host the fifth edition of the Human rights Film Festival titled “With open Eyes: Human Rights in Focus”, which will take place in Spazio Porto on 6th and 7th December 2014.

The Festival is organised by students of the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation (E.MA), the main teaching programme of the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) located in the Monastery of San Nicolò in Lido di Venezia.

This Festival is an important event dedicated to human rights issues in the framework of the celebrations for Human Rights day (10th December). It will address the topics of human rights in relation with business and migration. In particular it will be a space to participate in a lively debate within the framework of human rights-related films, aiming to encourage a wide audience to think with a critical eye about challenges and problems that human beings face in different parts of the world. In addition to film screenings, there will be room for panel discussions featuring the film directors, as well as experts in the field of human rights.

Admission to the Festival is free of charge and open to the public. The full programme is available at the links below.
