Final Conference of the TEMVI Project on situations of severe exploitation and trafficking of minors involved in criminal activities
The Final Conference of the TEMVI Project, which took place in Venice (Italy) last July 7th 2016, was organised with the particular purpose of presenting the outcomes of the project. It was also the occasion to share with the prototype and operational protocols and more in general for sharing and spreading project results, video and final publications.
Welcome speeches of representatives of the City of Venice, the Police Headquarters of Venice and the Human Rights Centre, University of Padova were followed by a session devoted to the phenomenon of forced criminal activities as a new form of exploitation in the 4 Countries involved in the project (France, Hungary, Italy, Romania).
The second session hosted intervention devoted to the experience of the Italian State Police regarding investigation on trafficking of exploited minors; the international cooperation with regard to human trafficking and migrant smuggling; challenges and gaps of human trafficking for forced criminality with regard to identification, protection and prosecution with particular attention to exploited children/minors. Lastly, the project outcomes and the local experimentation carried out in the Triveneto Region were presented.
More than 100 people, among which many law enforcement officers, members of the judiciary and social operators, took part to the event.
Co-funded by the Prevention of and Fight against Crime Programme of the European Union and coordinated by the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padua, the TEMVI Project focuses on the knowledge and the development of best practices in the field of trafficking and forms of severe exploitation within forced criminal activities.
